UPDATE: Sophia would like to thank those who have agreed to participate in her research study on therapist self-care. She is still a couple of participants short of the required number and the closing date is Friday 31st July 2020. If anyone would like to share their views on self-care in a 60 minute interview during August/September, please could you contact Sophia on direct on 07957 113425 or sophiakupse@nca.ac.uk  your valuable contribution will be greatly appreciated.

CNHC Registrant Sophia Kupse is in the final year of her MSc research degree in Advanced Complementary Medicine with the Northern College of Acupuncture (NCA) and the University of Middlesex. She is recruiting for participants for her research study:

If you are a CNHC Registered Complementary Therapist, practising full or part-time with two years’ or more experience, and see a minimum of four or more clients per week (or would usually meet this criteria but are currently not able to practise due to Government restrictions relating to COVID-19) I need your help.

My name is Sophia Kupse and I am conducting a research study on the following topic:

“What do Complementary Therapists (CTs) understand about self-care and CTs sense of importance of self-care.”

I will be collecting information on CTs understanding of self-care and CTs sense of importance on self-care. I need eight participants to volunteer their time to take part. All interviews will be recorded and conducted over the telephone or online via Microsoft Teams. You can select which option of interview suits you.

The interview will last a maximum of 60 minutes, but if you have more information relating to the topic and would like to share, the interview can be extended as agreed between yourself and the interviewer.

No expenses will be paid. However, you will be making an important contribution to helping other therapists understand more about self-care from the results gained from this study.

To minimise bias, I cannot interview people who already know me as friends, family, or past patients. However, I can consider your friends and family so please share.

How to apply to take part

If you would like to help my study, please email me at sophiakupse@nca.ac.uk

I can then send you a link to a short online screening questionnaire to help process your application. Once the questionnaire has been completed, if you are successful, a Participant Information Sheet and Consent Form will be emailed to you to read and sign if you wish to participate. If you prefer, the Participant information Sheet and Consent Form can be posted to you with a pre-paid envelope to cover the return cost.

Thank you again for your help.
